Position Summary:
The Director – Agriculture is responsible for growing Essex’s agriculture equipment finance portfolio. This role focuses on building new client and dealer relationships, supporting existing accounts, and helping shape how Essex delivers financing solutions to the agriculture sector.
The Director will spend much of their time prospecting, developing business opportunities, and working with clients and partners to structure financing. The role also includes reviewing credit submissions, ensuring deals are documented properly, and providing guidance on more complex opportunities.
Responsibilities:
• Develop new agricultural equipment finance opportunities through prospecting, referrals, and dealer relationships.
• Strengthen and expand existing client accounts by staying connected and supporting ongoing financing needs.
• Review and negotiate financing opportunities, ensuring they meet company policies and risk standards.
• Work with credit and operations teams to complete underwriting, documentation, and funding.
• Deliver on growth targets for new and existing accounts.
• Build and maintain relationships with equipment dealers, accountants, lawyers, and other referral sources.
• Represent Essex in the agriculture community by participating in industry and local events.
• Share feedback on market activity and competitor trends with Essex leadership.
• Identify opportunities to connect clients with other Essex products such as ABLoCs and mortgages.

Required Education and Experience:
• Post-secondary education in business, agriculture, finance, or a related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
• 8+ years of experience in agricultural, equipment, small business, or commercial lending, including credit analysis and structuring.
• Demonstrated ability to generate new business through prospecting and relationship building.
• Comfortable reviewing financial statements and applying lending practices.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Direct experience working with agricultural producers, equipment dealers, or related industries is an asset.
