Position Summary:

This is a multi-faceted Sales Director role focused on growing Essex’s direct and vendor relationships and expanding access to customers. The position is responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with both new and existing clients, identifying opportunities within key industries, and guiding the development and presentation of financing solutions. The Director will play a hands-on role in driving growth while supporting the team and ensuring a high level of service for customers and partners.

Responsibilities:

  • Grow opportunities within Essex’s existing account base while developing new accounts through proactive prospecting and relationship building.
  • Retain accounts by building and maintaining strong relationships with key decision-makers and influencers.
  • Provide ongoing market intelligence and competitive assessments to senior management, with a focus on long-term value creation and strategic growth.
  • Manage new and existing client and partner relationships, including appointment scheduling, client visits, collection and analysis of financial data, and the development and presentation of deal structures and terms and conditions.
  • Drive growth by identifying and securing targeted end-user opportunities within industries where Essex has established expertise, expanding both direct and vendor access to customers and supporting ongoing business development.
  • Address client concerns promptly, ensuring issues are resolved and followed up appropriately.
  • Conduct regular strategic account reviews (at least annually) to evaluate client needs and identify opportunities for additional business.
  • Monitor changes within client accounts—growth or decline—and work with senior management to develop strategies to mitigate risk and maintain account stability.

  • Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients, dealers, and industry partners.
  • Proactively prospect, market, and develop new business opportunities.
  • Demonstrate sound judgment when reviewing financial information and structuring financing solutions.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing.
  • Balance business growth objectives with responsible credit practices.
  • Exhibit professionalism, integrity, and a client-first approach in every interaction.
  • Be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities effectively.
  • Bring strong presentation, strategic thinking, negotiation, and closing skills.
  • Work effectively both independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams.
  • Build authentic relationships and engage confidently with individuals at all levels of the organization.

Required Education and Experience:

  • Post-secondary degree in Business, Marketing, or Commerce (strongly preferred).
  • 5–8+ years of related experience in the financial services, leasing, or banking industry.
  • Proven ability to generate new business through prospecting and relationship development.
  • Experience managing and developing client relationships, including collecting and analyzing financial information, preparing and presenting deal structures and terms, and supporting business development within targeted industries.
  • Comfortable reviewing financial statements and applying sound lending practices.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
